Student Bowl

It’s time to register a team for the 10th Annual ACSM Greater New York Chapter Student Quiz Bowl. This year it will be held at NYU Langone Health Science Building, East 30th Street, between FDR Drive and First Avenue, New York, NY on Saturday, April 26, 2025, along with the ACSM Greater New York Chapter Spring Meeting. Thanks to your support, the Annual Student Quiz Bowl event has been a tremendous success. This year we are looking forward to having your college’s team participate for a chance to attend the ACSM Annual Meeting and compete in the National ACSM Student Bowl in Atlanta, Georgia. The winning team in April will be supported by the Greater New York Chapter with a $3000 travel/lodging allowance ($1000/student) to attend the ACSM Meeting in Atlanta, along with free registration to that meeting. We feel that significantly raising the winning students’ awards will afford them the ability to attend the entire ACSM National Meeting and provide a truly memorable experience for them. Each student team member participating in the Student Quiz Bowl will receive complimentary registration and a full complement of CE credits for our 2025 Spring Meeting. To help with the increase in student awards, without having to raise registration fees, we will ask the student quiz bowl team faculty sponsors to pay the regististration fee for the Spring Meeting. I have attached a copy of the Student Quiz Bowl application form for your convenience. This year’s Spring Meeting theme, “The Science and Art of Personal Training”, will feature some of the hottest current topics in sports medicine. Further information on our Spring Program will be posted at: acsmgreaterny.org.  This is a great opportunity for students to meet fellow exercise science students from other area colleges, exercise science professionals, and attend an excellent educational seminar.

As in the past, we have kept the tuition fee affordable for students not competing in the Student Quiz Bowl, so please encourage your students to attend and “Cheer-on” their school’s team. Please pass this information on to your students and fellow faculty members.

I would also like to remind those interested in publishing research about our Call for Abstracts. This year, we have 5 categories. Undergraduate original research, undergraduate clinical case study, graduate original research, graduate clinical case study, and professional (non-competitive). I have also attached information about this event for your convenience.

I am looking forward to seeing you with your team on April 26, 2025. Please let me know if you are planning to enter a team in this year’s Student Quiz Bowl as soon as you can. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

All the best,

Mark A Caselli, DPM, FACSM
